Where it runs
Titan Monitor is installed by the academy through Google Admin on Chromebooks the academy manages, for learner accounts on the academy's Google Workspace domain. It is not offered to the public, cannot be installed on personal devices from the Chrome Web Store, and does nothing for accounts that are not academy learner accounts.
What it records
Collected
- The website address of the active tab, with search terms and anything after a “?” or “#” removed.
- The page title of the active tab.
- When the learner switches tabs or windows, and when the Chromebook is idle or locked.
- A short “still here” signal every 30 seconds.
- The learner's academy email address, used once to match the device to the right learner.
Not collected
- What is on the page: no text, no form entries, no documents, no messages.
- Keystrokes, screenshots, camera, or microphone.
- Anything from Chrome's own pages (settings, new tab, extensions).
- Personal Google accounts, or activity outside the Chrome browser.
- Location, contacts, or files on the device.
Why we collect it
Guides use this information for one purpose: to see what learners are working on during the school day and to review a learner's day afterward. Sites are grouped as on task, needs a look, or off task using a short list the academy maintains. It is informational. It does not block websites, and it does not award or deduct points on its own.
Who can see it
- Guides, for learners in their own studio.
- Academy administrators.
Learners and families do not see the raw activity of other learners. Information is only shown inside the Titan Tracker portal, which requires an academy staff login.
How long we keep it
Activity records are deleted automatically after 90 days. A small record of which Chromebook belongs to which learner is kept while the learner is enrolled so the device does not need to be set up again.
Where it is stored and who else gets it
Information is sent directly from the Chromebook to the academy's Titan Tracker server and stored in the academy's database, hosted in the United States. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, or give it to any third party. It is not used to decide anything about credit, lending, or eligibility, and it is not used for any purpose other than the one described above.
